Here's hoping 2009 is a fantastic and productive year for everyone! The last two years have been rather traumatic for me (and the kids) with a bunch of RL stuff homing in on us, but we're all looking forward to the New Year (and the new President! Yay!) Due to the aforementioned shit er, stuff I didn't get as much writing done as I had hoped, but Elena and I are planning to go to Writercon this year, so I am expecting to be inspired, baybee! 2004 Fics2005 Fics2006 Fics2007 FicsIn any event, here is my (sadly abbreviated) work completed in 2008. In 2008, I was thrilled to discover that my muse hadn't completely deserted me when I claimed a prompt for smallfandomfest and wrote Embracing the Quiet, Henry/Pike, in the fandom of one of my favorite movies of all time, Big Eden. I've always enjoyed the cya_ficathon, so I just had to participate! I was assigned a Spuffy fic for rahirah that I really enjoyed writing, and which became Let's Go Kill Something!. I adore Giles, and thought that if anyone could get me back into the discipline of writing, it would be Spike or Giles. So I signed up for summer_of_giles, and asked for prompts from my flist. I took the first three, and wrote: Regrets . . . I've Had a Few, Giles & Buffy, for shakatanyIn the Moment, Giles/Drusilla (as Jenny), for woman_of_and Blazing Like Rebel Diamonds, Giles/Ethan, for mirasol. I rounded out my sparse input for the year by adding an additional chapter to: Undercover, my AtS/BtVS/Bones Crossover fic. Hopefully, the coming year will be more productive and filled with ficcy goodness! Happy New Year! With love and best wishes, spikeNdru Tags: 2008 fics

Undercoverby spikeNdru BtVS/AtS CrossoverOther Fandom: Bones Genre: Drama, Action, Humor Pairings: Currently, Jack/Angela. There may be later pairings as the story progresses. Characters: Booth and Angel; Ensembles from both series. Rating: PG-15 Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters; BtVS Characters belong to Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy and Fox, Bones characters belong to Hart Hanson and Fox; I'm just borrowing them for the purposes of this story. Summary: A figure from Booth's past suddenly shows up in Washington, DC. Dealing with his past may be more difficult than Booth originally believes, once Angela gets involved. A/N: Finally getting back to this poor fic which has languished for ages, due to RL kicking my ass and the loss of early drafts and notes when my last computer died. *sigh* Thanks, as usual, to makd for the beta! *smoochies* Previous chapters can be found here.( Undercover )Tags: angel, booth, btvs/ats/bones crossover fic, ensemble, undercover

Okay. Those who've known me for some time may remember my embarrassing encounter with James Marsters at Moonlight Rising 2003 - I had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and speaking with Amber Benson, ASH, Adam Busch, James C. Leary and Christopher Golden. Then I got in line to meet JM. As I got closer to the object of my lust affection, I began to get a ringing in my ears, my vision narrowed to a small area surrounded by blackness and I felt like I was experiencing the world through a curtain of cotton batting. When it was finally my turn to meet him, I could not even look at the man, I was so nervous. In short, I made a total idiot of myself. Thank goodness I hadn't signed up for a photo with him, 'cause that would have been a real disaster. Last night, at around 7:45 pm, the phone rang. I said "Hello?" And this lovely, melodious, yet rather hoarse and scratchy voice replied, "Hello. This is Barack Obama. I am randomly calling fellow Americans to urge you to vote tomorrow." He then went on to say some things about government-sponsored health care for 19-30 year old people, very few of whom have health care at their jobs, and ending the war in Iraq. I was so shocked, I was having trouble comprehending the whole situation. He spoke for about a minute or two, and when he stopped talking, did I reply with an insightful comment? Are you kidding? I said " Okay." That's it. The sum total of my response. "O-freakin'-kay!" I told Elena about it when she came by to pick me up to take me to vote this morning, and she was really envious! (After she finished laughing her ass off!) Especially since she worked it out that when she registered on-line to change her address from Hollidaysburg when she moved back home last year, she gave them my phone number as she didn't have a new land line and was just using her cell phone at her new apartment, so she figures that's where my number randomly popped up. She also said I'm supposed to warn my LJ friends, especially rahirah, sweptawaybayou and lostakasha (whom I noticed have said they are definitely planning to attend) that she and I have registered for Writercon 2009, and judging by past dorkiness, I might not be very coherent if I finally get to meet you lovely ladies whom I respect and admire < eleventy. So. You have been warned! *g* ( denny_dc and xionin are probably not at risk, since I already met you guys at Phauxcon!)*eg*
